Creating a Workfile Event

Workfile events are logged in the Events tab. Your repair facility profile allows you to create custom events that can be added to a workfile. Events are used to communicate information to an insurance company. To reply to a message sent by an insurance company, use the workfile Events feature.

Additionally, events can be added to closed workfiles. This feature is available for users who have both Estimating Only and Repair Workflow. Events tied to milestone dates for Estimating Only users cannot be created for closed workfiles.

To create a workfile event

  1. Open or create a workfile, and then select the Events tab.
  2. Select New Event from the toolbar. The New Event screen opens.
  3. Select Event droplist, and then select an event type from the list.
  4. Adjust the date and time values if needed.
  5. Enter the event information in the Comments field.
  6. Click Save and Close or Save and New. The event is recorded in the workfile Events tab. Some events are also communicated to the insurance company.
